REQUEST AN APPOINTMENTIt is common to get foreign bodies in your eyes in west Texas. Certain jobs, such as welding, are at a higher risk when people don’t wear the recommended eyewear. High winds can also blow objects into your eyes. Most ocular foreign bodies can be prevented by wearing proper eye protection.
Possible symptoms of having something in your eye includes dulled vision, throbbing pain, or a scratchy feeling when blinking. If you suspect there is a foreign body in your eye, flush out your eye with either water or contact solution then come to the office to ensure both that the object has been removed, and that there aren’t any corneal abrasions.
The longer a foreign body stays in the eye the greater the risk of additional complications. If you think you have something in your eye it is better to come in as soon as possible. We do provide emergency appointments in these situations. If you need assistance call our office immediately; do not wait.
